Guitarist Rupes McD embraces his love of all things blue in a 4-piece format, with a mission to give the Blues a modern edge. Rupes cut his teeth listening to BB King, Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but in his thirteen year career he has also built an understanding of the jazzier side of things through Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and John Scofield. He also has an adoration for acoustic masters such as John Martyn, Eric Bibb and Kelly Joe Phelps.
The organ guitar partnership always gives a unique sound to any Blues band and in the hands of keyboard/, organ player and composer Ron Maxwell who ‘loves all things groove’ this will be a high voltage performance.
Behind all this is a backline of real merit with drummer Garry Kroll (an LCM graduate) who has been gigging across the music spectrum since the tender age of 14 and is is one of the most popular working drummers in Devon and beyond. While bassist Dan Cosgrove is a superb bass player who works across the musical genres and bands including Pattern Pusher and more recently jazz singer Lizzie Kirwan.
With Odette Adams. Adam sweet, Ian Jennings and Andy Knight appearing this Spring, Dan’s Brother will be a great launch to Blues nights with Teign Jazz and Blues.
