TJB is a charity dedicated to promotion and education in jazz, blues and related music. We have a thriving programme of gigs and occasional workshops led by members of the band and other professionals. If you teach an instrument, studio work, theory or other valuable skills and would like to deliver a workshop, contact us.
We are informal and prefer to call our committee a team, which consists of a small number of enthusiasts. Like many voluntary organisations we find there is a shortage of volunteers, and we would really welcome you to join us. An enthusiasm for music whether it be jazz or blues is useful especially when it comes to finding performers for our gigs. But equally valuable is an interest in other areas such e-marketing, music education, fund raising or video production. We get together once a month for a couple of hours and, in between, manage a number of small tasks. On club nights we roll up our sleeves get the show on the road. It’s fun and we get to hear amazing bands every month!

Long-term we are keen to rejuvenate the team and our programme. Even if you are working, please consider offering support, the light duties fit easily around a working day. Younger people into social media or who would like to have event management experience on their CV are especially welcome.
As with all charities there is an obligation to have Trustees who are responsible for the strategy and long-term planning of TJB. In our case the trustees are active members of the team which means they meet as a Trustees panel once a year. Club finances are healthy, and CIO status minimises liability of Trustees.
