It has been a little while since Teign Jazz and Blues has had a blues gig but it is making up for this by having a top class act in the form of the legendary Kent DuChaine who is playing Teignmouth (Bronx Bar 27th June) for the first time on his only South Devon gig in his 2019 UK tour.
Kent is one of the last of a generation that goes back to the early days of blues. In that tradition he tours constantly all over the world playing nightly in one town after another far away from is American home.
His ability to immerse his audience into his world, his life & his heart is unrivalled. His superb musicianship, storytelling & self-deprecating humour is why he is loved the world over. Fans are in for a treat with this one man show of music and words.
 DuChaine’s career is like visiting the hall of fame and he has shared the stage with many of the greatest blues performers including Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker & Margie Evans. His two year collaboration of 200 gigs with Bluesman Johnny Shines (travelling companion of Robert Johnson King of the Delta Blues) gave him access to a huge store of knowledge about the early Bluesmen & Blues music itself  which he passes on to his audience in music and  raconteur
In 2015 Kent was honoured to be asked by Ben “Boogie” Waters to play in a tribute concert to B B King in central London with music Legends Bill Wyman, Elliott Randall & many other luminaries.
DuChaine;s partner is 84 year old “National Steel”guitar named LeadBessie who is kitted out with extra heavy gauge strings to be able to cope with his powerful playing style.
