Teign Jazz and Blues is a charity that both promotes and educates in jazz and blues. In partnership with The Cave (Teignmouth’s community  music project): we are pleased to present the first of a series of workshops and masterclasses given by top musicians to local musicians of all standards.

We are fortunate to  have their percussionist Demi Garcia Sabat to run a workshop the next day.
Originally from Barcelona. London based since 1999. Demi studied at the London College of Music and is currently studying through ArtistWorks with jazz legend Peter Erskine. As a percussionist of international standing and the UK’s finest Flamenco workshop leader no one  could be better placed to lead this exciting  and enjoyable workshop.

The workshop is an introduction to Flamenco and rumba rhythms which are at the heart of many Latin music  styles. Demi will be looking at cajon  percussion techniques and hand clapping exercises. The class is not just for drummers and other musicians such as guitarists will find it expands their grasp of Latin beats. The workshop is aimed at both musicians of all types or may be of interest to fans of flamenco or dancers. Take part or just listen the choice is  yours.
