Vibraphonist Roger Beaujolais is known for his long career as a jazz musician, based in London and working internationally, along with a string of very high profile session work. Bassist Alec Dankworth needs little introduction. Alec comes from a very musical family, son of Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine. Independently Alec has had an impressive career with a stint in the Dave Brubeck Quartet and also working with the notorious Ginger Baker of “Cream”, and being a prolific composer and bandleader.
Scottish Guitarist Neil Burns has been immersed in the south west jazz scene for many years and has accompanied many top players on tours in the region. A guitarist steeped in the jazz guitar tradition with a funky, bluesy, bebop style heavily influenced by the great “Grant Green”.
Roger, with his easy relationship with the audience, explores the development of this quintessential jazz instrument with a wide range of numbers from early swing to be-bop, and beyond. He came to us last year to critical acclaim from the crowd and we felt it only right to invite him back to a bigger show in the more appropriate venue of the Yacht Club.
