Tom Ridout is an exceptional reeds player (and jazz recorder) and prolific composer and was the runner up to his sister Alex (ouch!) in the BBC young jazz musician of the year plus other outright wins in other awards since. He fronts his own projects but has been in demand with a host of jazz notables including Gregory Porter, Nikki Iles, Gwilym Simcock, and Dave Holland.
In his first visit to Teignmouth he teams up with fellow London based French drummer Tristan Mailliot in the Chick Corea Project featuring local Jim Rintoul basses and Tom Ball piano and Rhodes piano.
Expect a contemporary and loving treatment of the Chick Corea catalogue . Personal favourites are Armando’s Rhumba and 500 miles high but there is time for you to message us with your faves and we will see if they can be included .
“If you get a chance just go and see this band: their repertoire is rich in textures, complexity and virtuoso performances -you won’t be disappointed” (John Morrow – Riff Magazine)
